Meet Dr. Colleen Horn

Chiropractor Warrenville, Dr. HornRoad to Chiropractic

Growing up not 20 minutes from the office, I was heavily involved in soccer and music from a young age. I always felt the need to help people growing up, and I knew my future lay in service to others. I attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign studying Psychology, yet had no real direction in my path. It wasn’t until my mom was in a car accident my junior year of college and sought out the help of a chiropractor that I truly found my passion. I remember walking out of the office asking myself why every child isn’t adjusted from the day they are born! This experience opened my eyes to the body’s innate ability to heal and function. Since then I have been on a mission to help create health in others by restoring that innate healing ability through chiropractic care, real food, and holistic living.

A Passion for Working with Couples Trying to Conceive

After chiropractic school, I witnessed many of my friends suffering with infertility both emotionally and financially. It was around the time I was planning my wedding and started to worry about my own fertility. Unfortunately, the rates of infertility are steadily increasing. Conceiving a baby as naturally and easily as possible was very important to me. Knowing the body’s ability to heal, I started my own research and decided to take certain steps prior to trying to conceive. My biggest focus was making sure my body and my husband’s body was as healthy as possible. I knew that if we were truly healthy, then getting pregnant with a healthy baby would be easy and natural.

All of that hard work paid off with the unmedicated birth of our daughter Felicity. Through my pregnancy, I realized the lack of support women have in their holistic journey to create healthy families. I am determined to give new families the information they need to make their journey as smooth as possible and what they want it to be. Mothers are strong! Our bodies were intelligently designed for the beautiful process of birth; something our ancestors have been doing for thousands of years. All we need to do is listen to our hearts and we will know exactly what to do for ourselves and our children

Further Education and Memberships

In chiropractic school at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA, I began working on my pediatric certification, through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. Before I started my internship, I went on a clinic abroad trip to Manaus, Brazil. One of the most memorable moments from Brazil is when I gave a little 8-month-old baby his first adjustment. The only thing I knew about little Leo was that he had a G-tube, or a feeding tube in his belly, and he was developmentally delayed. When Leo got his adjustment and his nervous system functioning, he gave me the biggest smile and it melted my heart. Being able to see his and so many others’ light burn brighter confirmed everything I had been working so hard to attain.

I am also a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), International Chiropractic Association (ICA), and the Illinois Prairie State Chiropractic Association(IPSCA).
